Bordeaux meets Tuscany! The name translates as Salt of the Earth and references the salt mines which have been exploited since the ancient Etruscans. This is an excellent and concentrated Bdx blend composed of 50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged 18 months in French barriques, 1st and 2nd use. Ripe black plum and black berries with a whiff of Cab Franc dustiness. Warm, poised, ample and very well-balanced with refreshing acidity and firm tannin. The oak is present but integrated.
