Il Palazzo is a splendid wine estate owned by the Banelli family. But it is far more: it is a destination. They have tastefully decorated guest rooms in modernized medieval buildings and their own osteria, serving Tuscan specialties every day using ultra-fresh, “zero-kilometer” ingredients. Their vineyards are planted primarily with Sangiovese but also feature many French varieties integral to their proprietary blends including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. Their reds are generously flavored and substantial, a style many Americans will take to. The two wines pictured below are compelling bargains for retail and BTG.
